Seems that this is a "common practice", isn't it?
Don't a few ebay sellers make a living selling things they don't really have
"in hand"?
(OK, maybe it's not "a living")
One could do it by:
1. not quoting a ship date - item ships "when in stock"
2. reserve is set at item "total cost" plus mark-up (i.e., cost of XB-40s +
ebay fees + 20%)
3. once winning bidder pays, item is backordered with winning bidder as the
"drop-ship" address
- -so this COULD be a "technically" legit sale - with the exception of the
error about the keys (sorry Mr/Ms winning bidder - The Factory changed the
"game plan".
I have gotten the impression that this happens often on ebay - especially
since SO MANY of the items I see there are SO OVER-PRICED (for swap-meet
quality JUNK).
