This I remember, as they stopped using the paper boxes around 1985/86. =
They started using boxes similar to the original hand made Meisterklasse =
harps, which were plush lined much like a horn case for about a year or =
two, and then they switched to what they use presently. The reason for =
the change to plasticboxes was that it was cheaper, and not for =
protective reasons. The pre-World War II Marine Band boxes had attached =
photographs of an actual 1896 US Marine Band (the soldiers, not the =
harp). Jerry Portnoy told me a couple of years ago that he bought out =
all of the paper boxes they had left at Hohner.
