I live near Rochester, Minnesota and there was, until last summer, a=20
little blues club here that got a lot of big names on Thursday nights becaus=

the owner was smart and picked up dates from blues bands that were often=20
headed for Des Moines and a Friday night gig. I saw people like Carey Bell,=20
Anson Funderburgh and Sam Myers, and many others. They would have a gig in=20
maybe Minneapolis or Madison and then had some nights open before headed for=

Des Moines.. Or had played in Des Moines and had a free night before a job i=

I really miss that club and all the cool music. We have nothing now but a=20
bunch of LOUD pretenders who play in a couple of local clubs and it ain't=20
blues, even if that's what they call it.
