Nah. STYLE is a matter of taste. MUSIC is a matter of taste. GENRE is a
matter of taste. And even looks, for that matter.

But TONE can be quantified. There are certain things that improve the sound
of the harmonica, that bring out more pleasing fundamental and harmonic
content, that give the player more control over the notes and chords, and
that give the harmonica a better sound.

I love Bob Dylans harp in the context of his music, but no one can credibly
claim that he has "great tone".

Conversely, my labelmate Jerry Adler (Larry's brother) has phenomenal tone,
but I find his music to be a bit bland for my personal tastes.

BTW I like both provolone and emmenthaler, although playing too close to
consuming can cause the reeds to choke.
