Re: Picture of a new Suzuki promaster valved harp

Sam, it's a great harp I agree. Mr Farrell sent
me two of the valved ProMasters backin '96 and they've
really been such a pleasure to play and compose things
on. I ordered a low-F and a low-D. Was turned onto them
from reading the liner-notes from Brendan Powers cd
New Irish Harmonica (great, details in the notes on
what harps and positions he uses for these tunes),
where he uses some of the ProMasters (Brendan receives
a stipend from Suzuki for his work getting the design
together for them). I found the low-D was a little
loose in the reeds out-of-the-box, for my taste, and
regapped the first three holes ever so slightly. It's
brilliant for those rumbling swoops you descibe in
your post. The lowF has been a dream from the get-go.
...and it's true: aesthetically these harps are gorgeous,
and very smooth to play. Richard Weintrager -
