the other important thing is to be hydrated in general. in the winter, most
folks become a lot less thirsty, and consequently, drink less. this will
cause everything to dry out. i've been making an effort to drink a minimum
of a quart of water a day, in addition to whatever else i drink during the
day...mostly juices or milk. days i drink too much coffee instead i feel
real dried out.
also, if you do get chapped, don't lick your lips just keep the chap stick
on, and a s vince says, wipe it off before playing.
i count myself fortunate that i don't get anything worse than very minor
chapping...it sounds like a pain.
