lots of sothern rockers have used this scale, but so have many
others...springsteen, thin lizzy, elvis costello.
it's also the bass line intro to the temptations' classic "my girl". i play
this every so often for practice, and try and see how many positions i can
play it in. besides second, the scale sits pretty well in other positions
for at least one octave...first, third, and twelfth for sure. fourth and
fifth, too. throw in an overdraw or overblow, and you get a couple of usable
octaves.
