Re: SM57 underappreciated

Hey all,

  i have yet to play through an SM57, but i've heard alot of good things. 
i've also heard good things about the SM58, and of course the 545s (they 
sell new ones on Coast2Coast, i believe). and all are in the same price 
range. but can anyone give kind of side by side comparison of each? how are 
they different from each other? if someone, say me, wanted to get a 
non-bullet mic, is there a particular one of these three that may be better 
to start with? and are the modern 545's anything like they were in 
Butterfield's time (not that a mic will give me his tone, but, you know...)
