Blues singer, guitar and harmonica player Horace Sprott was born on this day
in 1890.   After serving time in the 1920's on a prison farm in Alabama,
Sprott emerged as a musician, playing at parties and at juke joints over the
next 30 years.  He eventually made several recordings and appeared on
national television.

Country musician Lester McFarland was born on this day in 1902.  Like many
country musicians, McFarland played several instruments, including the
harmonica.

Blues singer, guitar and harmonica player Sam Chatmon died on this day in
1983.  Chatmon was a part of a large musical family that included Charlie
Patton and members of The Mississippi Shieks.  His song "Sitting On Top Of
The World" has become a standard in Blues, Country and Rock music.

Blues / Zydeco guitar and harmonica player Godd Rockin' Sidney Semien died
on this day in 1998.  Semien began recording in the early 1950's and over
the years he became a major star in Zydeco music, recording several albums.
