If it were my mic, I'd ask the tech what he did to fix it, and let him know that it now sounds unacceptably
wimpy.
There are any number of things that will make a mic sound bad. The element could be tweaked (misaligned), or
maybe mounted incorrectly. I'd also check to make sure the output transformer hadn't been bypassed.
