Hi,

< Does anyone have experience with Heppner alnico speakers (from a =
Hammond 101 organ)? >=20

I have a 1950's 40 watt Hammond Tone Cabinet. It's got 2 x 15" and 2 x =
12" factory alnico speakers. The cabinet is open back.
I've found these speakers very sensitive to high sound pressure levels, =
especially those from a cupped mic. (tried different mics and same =
result)
A fairly clean and warm sounding speaker. The amp is a quiet 40 watts =
and therefore dosen't drive the speakers. But i'm sure the speakers =
would break up with more grunt behind them. (The tone cabinet is great =
for electric lap steel guitar and keyboards).=20
My experience with harp recommends not using the Hammond alnico speaker. =
I can only assume they are similar to what you have.
Good luck

  I am building a speaker cabinet to run a 50 watt amp into. Should it =
be open or closed back? I intend on using 2 12's, and one separate 8" =
for quieter situations. Does anyone have experience with Heppner alnico =
speakers (from a Hammond 101 organ)?=20
