Another Great Loss - Tony Sheppard

Yes, I'm sorry to break the news, but I've just learned today that Tony
Sheppard died on April 7, 2003, from what doctors reported as a heart
attack. As many of us know, he had been in the hospital some months ago
for a back operation, but this condition was apparently not related to his
passing.

Many of us will also have the consolation of having experienced Tony's
amazing impromptu skills on the ivories at harmonica events such as the
Minneapolis Summit, when he generously filled many a void in seminars and
performances where a piano player was sorely needed, including even for
Howard Levy.

But most of us will miss even more the equally sorely needed optimism and
cheerful outlook which Tony possessed, one that very few people provide us
as consistently and unselfishly as he did. Ever encouraging and
supportive, and always abstaining from harshness in word and deed, he had
an uplifting way about him that makes his loss all the more sad for us all.

Rest well, Tony ... and thank you. You done good!
We deeply miss you.

Bobbie
