the ending of the sentence in the subject thing is "or are we just talking 
blues here!?!"  clearly, rob paparozzi, who wrote the intitial list beginning 
with toots and ending with delbert mcclinton, wasn't thinking of just blues.  
i added johansen, peter wolf, southside johnny, paul jones, and robert plant.
i would argue, however, that mcclinton, southside, and jones are all fine 
blues players.  johansen and plant may be more limited in ability, but their 
playing is certainly in a blues vein.  toots can probably play any damn thing 
he wants.
