Hi Robb,

I always thought that the # 97U29 was in reference
to the microphone stand, and not the mic itself.
Usually, or from my own experinece, there is a 
model # 510 mic mounted on these stands.

Shure made these mics for companies such as
Bell & Howell, Recordio, GE, Motorola, TDC,
RCA, and dozens of other brand names that 
they sub-contracted for.

Are you seeing this # on the bottom of the stand?
