Unlike you, I have no other device to which to compare my experience. I bought
the OC-2 after trying it out briefly in the store. I guess I should have A/B'd
it with some other devices, maybe I would have clearly seen the difference as
well. I have seen reviews from guitarists who say that other octave devices
can more easily and quickly capture a note, and can even work with chords,
something the OC-2 clearly cannot do.
I use my OC-2 extensively with high keyed harps (D and higher) to produce a
synth-like effect when playing very fast runs. Perhaps the tracking problems
are just getting burried in the mud! I know that if I go very low the signal
breaks up terribly.
Maybe we should be having this discussion on list so others can see more of the
details!
