How is this different from a splitter and a transformer? I think many
players might like this, but I get all of my sound from my stage rig.
The plug which you propose sends signal directly to the mixing console
without going through my amp. I want the sound of my amp amplified by
the PA system. Tone from the stage rig - volume from the PA. That is
actually why many players tap off of the ext speaker jack of their amp.
I consider that to be objectionable for my sound too. I have chosen
the speakers in my stage gear for their sound too. If I were to use
the Pickle Plug, I would be the only one who gets to hear my playing
with the tone that I like. I might as well run my JT-30 directly to
the boad and put some of it in the monitors and leave my amp at home
which is what many harp players do. For some players this may be their
salvation, but I don't have any trouble with feedback in the setup that
I use. I actually am surprised that folks have as much trouble with
feedback as they do. Just find an amp that allows you to get the sound
that you want. I would even recommend something smaller than a
Bassman. (mine has to be cranked up too loud to get the sound that I
really like) When you get the sound mike it with a SM57 or anything
remotely comperable and get the mix at the board. It's as simple as
that. If you have a sound man, you're set, if not, get a long cord and
go out front every now and then to see how the mix is. (I recently got
a wireless. That's the cat's meow! I was uneasy about it thinking it
would color my sound, but in reality I have had no interference
problems and no change in my tone using it either.)
