Re: Harps and Commericals

I just wanted to comment on Thomas Hinkle's query about
harps in commercials, and I really only take issue with one
aspect of his comments: the part about commercials
"exploiting" harmonica players...

As a pro/semi-pro harp player for over 20 years, and as a
one-time studio player for Griffiths/Gibson productions in
Vancouver B.C., I just wanted to say that Brian Gibson was
one of the first people I met (circa 1972) who truly
understood the musical potential of cross harp styles
applied to forms of music other than country and blues,
and that I was always very well paid for playing for him.
I never felt exploited and I'll always be grateful.
