Winston Churchill once said "The best way to instill a quality in a man 
is to impute it to him".  I've found this to be quite true.  I treat 
everyone from the start as if they're basically decent, reasonable, 
honorable, and nice.  They rarely disappoint me.

I don't allow these very rare exceptions to jaundice my outlook.  I 
simply deal with these on a case by case basis.
