Help Me!!!

I need some help with basic harmonica methods. I have a question on 
positions.
What the hell are they? Why do we use them and how many are there and 
what are they. I really want to get a good understanding of the diatonic 
and thats why I am asking you guys. So if you could please write me and 
answer these questions and include any other info you can because I 
could use it. Thanks alot
