Tuning article, Echo comb

Didn't mean to send the tuning article anonymously- sorry.

There was also a question about the little holes in the comb of tremolo
models.
The reason they are there is to allow for even distribution of air to both
the upper
and lower reed, assuring an even tremolo sound even if the harmonica is not
perfectly aligned to the mouth. I'm not sure why it is that the lowest and
highest
reeds do better without these vent holes; many designs were arrived at exper-
imentally, without fully understanding the principles involved.

                                                           Regards,
                                                           Rick Epping
