Pat...re confirmation.

  You have obviously tried to subscribe to Harp L by  
sending your command to the general list.  You have to send  
your request to the LISTSERVER....

To subscribe to the Harp-L list, send a mail message to


MXserver@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx 


that contains a line like this:

	SUBSCRIBE HARP-L "Your Real Name"

That is..use your real name without the quote marks.

This should subscribe you and you will receive  
confirmation.  If you send messages, however, to  
Harp-L@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx, you are just sending it to the  
general subscriber list...we read it but usually just  
delete it because people make this mistake constantly.   
However...give the listserve address a try and you'll be  
"on."
