While we're on the subject...there's some companies
making big toy microphones for kids that have a spring 
reverb in'em...and they need no batteries. They're often 
made of gross neon colored plastic, but they are also very 
inexpensive--and I love mine so much  for acoustic jams 
that I bought ten of them in case they stop making them 
(I've tried for years to get another baking powder submarine). 
They sound great.
