CLeaning reed plates...

Hi,

Recently my father was clearing a house out and he came across an Hohner 
Echo Harp. Its about the size of two diatonics and has one side marked G 
and the other C. One of the reeds has glued up due to rust from the rivet 
and i'd like to get it playing again. What is the best way of getting it 
clean ? By the way , it is nailed together ....

As a aside, what would I play on one of these harps of huge range ?
