Recently, there was a request posted for info about the CBH

I have two CBHs, now in pieces.  It was a strong-toned chromatic, very air,
tight, but with a serious problem with accumulated moisture.  The cover plates
are finned inside, so air from each hole came out (or in) a different chamber. 
This made it difficult to mic it with a hand-held mic, not a problem for
classical chromatic players.  The literature claimed that each reed was matched
to a tuned resonance chamber (i.e. between the fins), but I don't think much
real science went into the design.  The slide was teflon, and of an unusual
design.
