The Blues blaster uses a different value and taper on the volume control 
than the JT30VC.  Some say this changes the sound tremendously.  I don't 
know myself.  Rod Piazza and Kevin's Harps mods include changing the 
quality, value, and taper of the volume pot.  The older JT30's use a 
different connector type than the newer ones and lack the volume 
control.  Again there are those who say this significantly changes the 
sound.  The final difference is the age of the crystal.  The sound 
changes from crystal element to crystal element and with the age of the 
crystal.  Crystal elements absorb water over their lives and aventually 
die because of this.  FJM
