Spanish Poodle Bites

===========Gary Primich's THE POODLE BITES is in F, and is played
on a Bb diatonic. The turnaround on the head borrows an idea from
Sonny Rollins' "Tenor Madness," which involves chromatically
descending minor 3rds. This might be confusing to someone who's
not used to figuring them out, but it's quite easy to play in
terms of technique. Just requires some new ear habits.

Harris asks about is Andres Serrano. He played last year at
Trossingen, including some of his onw compositions. Sounded
absolutley ravishing. I asked him if his composition were
published but he shrugged it off - seemed more interested in his
female companion. It's encouraging to hear that he's broadening
his horizons. Someone with his expressive potential could really
