Terms...

I've been through the archives to try to learn some basic things without 
nagging anybody on the list, as I'm fairly new to the music thing.  
Anyway, I came across a bunch of words that everyone else understood but 
I couldn't follow, so I figure I'll have to nag.  (At least I *tried* 
other routes).

Tubes... What is a tube amp?
I also don't know what a solid state amp is, or a transistor amp.

If someone could also explain "Spring Reverb", "XLR connection", and 
"impedence", I'd be most appreciative.  Thanks.
