Re: Ignorant chromatic question
I still have a copy of The Art of Playing Hohner Chromatic Harmonicas,
Copyright 1937.
Te HH260 (with REGULAR TUNING) was set up with ten holes.
It was able to play the chromatic tones (half steps), and here is the setup.
1: CD, 2: EG, 3: GB, 4:CD, 5:EF, 6:GA, 7:BC, 8:DE, 9:FG, 10:AC.
With the use of slide button, you could play the sharps and flats.
The HH260 with SOLO TUNING was:
holes 1: EF, 2: GA, 3: BC, 4: CD, 5: EF, 6: GA, 7: BC, 8: DE, 9: FG, 10: AC.
With the use of the button, you could play sharps and flats.
1: E#F#, 2: G#A, etc.
The HH270 is set up with 3 chromatic octaves starting with hole 1 (middle C
on piano) to hole 12: C to C#). With the use of the button, you can play the
sharps and flats. Each octave is repeated with C,D,E,F,G,A,B,C (holes 1-4,
5-8, and 9-12) from first octave to the third octave. With the button in on
hole 12, you can play the C# tone.
