I have a problem here. I have a chromatic in a box marked 260 which is
practically identical to my 270. The "260" is about 30 years old. It
fits nicely in its box, without being forced. It's tuned in A.

The cover plates are the same as on the (current) 270, it has 12 holes
and I don't know what it is. The reason I asked for the difference was
that I couldn't see one but thought there should be one. Unlike the 270,
the alleged 260 has the key marked on the reed plates. The box is wooden,
sides about 4mm thick and lined with padding. The lining is blue with a
tricolour ribbon in the lid. The lining in the lower half of the box
is velvety.

Hope this information is useful to someone.
