Just a thought on this.  Don't know if you've tried it or not but.....
Some listserves use the word UNSUBSCRIBE or UNSUB.  Others use SIGNOFF
(one word).  Of course, generally you have to be sending the note from
the account you want cancelled.

Otherwise your silence will imply that it worked.
