[Harp-L] What first attracted you to harmonica? Why did you learn

I was quitting smoking and had gone on the Patch, so needed something else besides cigarettes to do while watching television. Bought a Hohner Big River harp in C and The Guide to Playing the Country Blues Harmonica  by John Gindick at The Folk Music Center in Claremont, CA. 

A couple months later, during that eerie and  unprecedented week after 9/11,  it clicked: I could actually play the thing. And, as they say, the rest is history......
