[Harp-L] Irish harmonica question

Question to all of you Irish harp players out there: I want to get a 10 hole paddy richter tuned slide diatonic from Brendan Power and start learning some Irish music. If I can only get one key - should it be in the key of G or D? Since I'm not planning on joining any Irish music jams anytime soon, and just want to woodshed until comfortable that I'll 'get there' with enough practice, which key is more prevalent?
