I read the book "Monika's Blues - On the Trail of the German Harmonica and African-American Blues Culture" by Herbert Quelle and I enjoyed it very much.

It is a book of fiction, but it mentions real harmonica players, both living and dead, some who are even harp-l contributors.  The book also includes a great deal of accurate information about the history of German made harmonicas imported into the USA.  It is definitely an excellent book.
