Yes I love my Audix Fireball and play it cupping chroms or diatonic.

I am not sure if it works the same on a stand ( never tried it)

On a stand i use a shure58 clone (beringher).

Just wondering because if I understand correctly the fireball is very
resistant to sound pressures/feedback....would it pick up enough sound on a
stand ?
