In an attempt to assist me technically, she told me to try to work on my embouchure and keep my mouth as open as possible: a wide cavity is key. I took this to heart and it improved my playing tremendously.

Embouchure is more than just opening your airway. Try to hold every part of your body, from your lips, to your jaw all the way down to the bottom of your lungs without straining. The idea is to apply no more than the necessary pressure. Hohner’s “Just breathe” mantra points the way.
