Depends much on which chords are used to finish the song. You can end, for
example, on the 5 (V) and sound "blue" if the other chord structure is
ending on the I. Those "rules" about the 2 and the 6 are making assumptions
about what kind of song is being played. Theory aside, I agree, let your
ears be your guide.
