Re: [Harp-L] Temperament of Spiral

Robert Hale asks:

*SPIRAL PLAYERS AND TUNERS,

I am using a chart that calls for Blow 7 at -14 cents, and Draw 7 at +16.
That is starting to sound like too large an interval!

Am I able to see online Seydel's chart for Spiral?*

I am unaware of any separate chart providing a compromise tuning for Spiral.

That said, here is the link to Seydel's fine tuning offsets:

http://www.seydel1847.de/epages/Seydel1847.sf/sec6277ef5506/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Seydel/Categories/Configurator/Config_Welcome/FineTuning

You already know that if you want Equal temperament, you have 0 cents offest
on every note.

Applying Seydel's compromise offsets (based on the Richter Tuning) to Spiral:

BLOW --   2    -12      4     -2      6      0    -14      2    -12      4
HOLE --  01 --  02 --  03 --  04 --  05 --  06 --  07 --  08 --  09 --  10
DRAW --   6      0    -14      2    -12      4     -2      6      0    -14

Or, viewed another way (I don't know if Harp-L will maintain the spacing):

Scale Degree       =      Offset (Cents)
1                  =             0
2                  =             4
3                  =           -14
4                  =            -2
5                  =             2
6                  =             6
7                  =           -12

Crazy Bob
