[Harp-L] dry lips

I've used vegetable glycerin..... only place I found it here in my part of Los Angeles was Whole Foods, so I'm still making monthly payments on the small bottle of the stuff..... and of course, it's gluten-free, low-glycemic, (great selling points?) and probably even rust proof. When my lips get dry, and bits of lip stop the sliding action, a tiny bit of it lasts for some time, but not forever. It's a bit sticky, so use tiny amounts.....

The best thing I discovered , and it was today....don't play oboe for three hours and expect to play chromatic harmonica all that well for a while.....I came out of retirement to make what was supposed to be Easy Money, and when I got home, the harmonica felt like a new experience.....dang.

There are also some chinese herbs for dry lips.....seem to work...you could check out http://americandragon.com, my acupuncture (and trumpet player) guy's site, and see what he's got to suggest.....It might depend upon whether it's dry lips only or dry lips with dry mouth....but you can put symptoms in and see what's suggested, and buy it from a local herb store, if you have them wherever you are...
