Re: [Harp-L] Seydel Blues Session vs Seydel Session Steel?

I concur Session Steel Harps have been tuff and comfortable to play...in my experience.
I enjoy G.M.s and Rockets also.

Nobody makes blues harps pitched lower than those offered by Seydel, and the lowest have brass reeds and lots of weight on the low reeds. The heavy low reeds are vulnerable to shock and I have cracked two by dropping the harp out of a shirt pocket or flinging it while gesturing onstage. The Session Steel hold up really well. Unless the harp you want is lower than LC, I would recommend the Session Steel. You can save $25 by purchasing the Session Standard.. Pennies a day.. Why not skip one pizza and a pitcher of beer instead? :)

Like guitarists, harp players often get hung up on nuances of equipment.. brass vs steel, comb material, speaker cone construction, effects processing.. anything other than the hard work of mastering an instrument. Mojo is not in the equipment, it is in the mind, heart and soul. Believe me, the Session Steel can certainly transmit your Mojo.

I can rarely afford harmonicas that give up too soon -- which all too often keeps me from my favourite S 20Âs --, so as long as they last an hour or two and occasionally during that time produce a harmonica like sound I have to settle for whatÂs available in a certain price category.
