[Harp-L] The Synchronizaton License

(Winslow Yerxa)->"While standard licensing mechanisms exist for using copyright compositions in print and sound recordings, none exist for video".

The Synchronizaton license is one form of government sanctioned robbery.

Whether music (aside from lyrics) could even be copyrighted was an issue settled by forcing the industry to accept the concept of the "Mechanical License" and each Mechanical License should have automatically included _any_ usage of the music such as synchronized usage of the music. Therefore: the Mechanical License should have allowed reproduction of performance on video.
