Re: [Harp-L] Re: Harp players gear lists? blah blah longish

OK Robert….all points well taken….no offense taken…..

Let's get to some of your questions about Harps…..

I'm what you'd call OLD SCHOOL, I started out on Hohner Marine Bands in the 60's have tried ALL the newest brands and MANY tweaked-custom harps……really CAN'T play MY style on any of them…Since I play Chromatic and Diatonic equally I have NO need for an "overblow" setup…..what I am interested in is a "True" comb and Hohner Factory Plates……

In my cases you will find mostly Big Rivers on custom built combs, preferably wood or composite or some corian ….period….That fits my Budget and works like a charm for ME but probably not for all as we now have a WIDE variety of stylist and players on the instrument……

My Favorite Chromatic EVER is a Toots Hard Bopper….Tone of it's wood comb gives me the warmth I need…..

Endorsement wise………I am Back with Hohner as I feel they have gotten BACK in to making their harps better….they do not give out free harps, I buy them……they may send out an occasional new model gratis for our opinion but that's it….

If a company believes in their product and I like it and they want to work with me to promote it then I am there! We ALL want better instruments we deserve it…….

Mics… I use mostly Audix Fireball V, I helped them design it and I believe it's THE best Harp Mic out there….my next choice is the Blowsmeaway Ultimate 57 & would like to buy a 58 next…..when I get some extra dough…..

Amps I am a simple and cheap man,-) Give me a Fender Blues deluxe 1x12 or a Blues Junior for a smaller gig and I'm happy…
no interest is boutique amps to much dough….

When not carrying an amp….The Digitech RP is the way to go with My Fireball Mic and Maestro Hunter KILLER Patches!

as Keb Mo' sings….."Keep it Simple" hope this pro has answered your questions,-)
all the best,
Rob Paparozzi

The degree to which many here have accumulated so much in the way of equipment, perhaps is an element of envy, but I only address the issue since I wish to know, not merely to be "told", what is what. That's my choice, and my right.

Some of you may be in either a better economic situation, or have more influence, due to your reputation, to be able to buy things which some others cannot. "It is what it is".

I'm not saying this has never been done but I really don't think many reputable companies would or need to put up with that kind of behavior as they'd all lose out in the long run……
