[Harp-L] harmonica runs over other instruments

on saturday I've been to a concert here in Macaé with great musicians,
among them there were an alto sax and a harp
they both played clean (the harp went thru that well known knobby sm58) and
they both were quite aloud over the other instruments, in a mean the sound
in general was great specially for those solo instruments!
but there were some times the harp and sax has been played together and
suddenly there could not be heard no sax at all.
the harp slams other instruments, you could only hear a little shade of the
other instrument being played
the other day has been posted here an excellent video of a great band
playing a gipsy tune, this time the harp is a bit dirtier (cuz of effects
or saturation)
the same happens again, the harp steps on other (wind) instruments and you
hear nothing but the harmonica fat thick tone

does anyone recommends any way -- maybe some effect or eq -- that allows
the harp to sound more subtle to ensemble with other instruments?
