Pat, you got that right. I have heard a live recording of Charlie McCoy with Johnny Gimble on fiddle and McCoy picks up the wrong harp. Johnny says laughingly "that's ok Charlie, I pick up the wrong harp once in a while too". A long time ago I asked Charlie why he liked the Old Stanbys (he used to use those in some of the lower keys like G, A, Bb) and his answer was "'cause when I'm in a dark stage, I can feel that guy's head (on the cover plate) and know I dont have the harp upside down". Since then I discovered that I liked the OS in those keys too just because of the action but of course they dont make them like that anymore.
I wish I could remember the album. Has anyone heard this cut?Buck
