[Harp-L] Pre SPAH Blues Blowoff

The 'unofficial' 2013 blues blowoff will be held at the  same joint as 
where Jason Ricci hosted when SPAH was last in St  Louis.  The date is Tuesday 
evening Aug 13.  
 
Exact time and other details will be passed along as they  emerge, but 
here's a few bits.

This is a national room with a nice stage & good  quality house run PA.
 
Venue owner says the location is a straight shot up the interstate from the 
 convention hotel, about a 15 minute drive.  As it stands it doesn't  look 
like the hotel shuttle will be available for the blowoff.  We are  working 
on the possibility of an independent pay-per-ride shuttle to/from  the hotel, 
this may or may not materialize.  If you are in St Louis  and able to 
provide this service please contact me via email -  bluzeharp at aol.com as in 
the header of this email.
 
BB's has a full bar and a great menu, it includes some  nice vegetarian 
offerings.  Come early, get a good table  & settle in with a meal before the 
show begins.
 
Too soon to announce the talent, but be aware that this is  widely regarded 
as the greatest repeating multi-artist  blues blowoff on the planet.  If 
you dig blues harmonica it's  bucket list sort of event, as is the entire 50th 
annual SPAH  convention... both are well worth going out of your way to  
experience.
 
Although closely aligned, this event is not an official SPAH  function.  Be 
aware that the $10 cover charge is not included  with your convention 
registration.  That said, it's worth every penny  of the cover, easily a $40 
ticket if the artists weren't already converging  in town for the convention.
