Re: [Harp-L] SPAH awards criteria

Jesus people, this is not about marketing. It is not about "running" for
the prize and accruing votes and being able to say "I was nominated" so you
can get a gig. It's about a community who has a love for a certain
instrument and a love for music, and want to acknowledge someone who really
has embodied that love in the community. Making this about marketing or
about prestige is a complete disregard for what it is about. Get over
yourselves, and just deal with the fact that in the past people who were
chosen were certainly people who earned it by being good musical human
beings for the sake of it and not hoping and convincing people they should
win so they can put it on their resume.
