Re: [Harp-L] Draw 2 vs Blow 3 (diatonic)â - Real World Example

1. Check the gapping
2. Back off on the force you use in playing

Subject: [Harp-L] Draw 2 vs Blow 3 (diatonic)â - Real World Example

Interestingly, I'm trying to learn a song with one very small passage that I
have debated on the Draw 2 or Blow 3. It probably doesn't matter much in this
context but I haven't been able to figure out from repeated listens which it is.

The song is "She Didn't Cut Me Loose" by Curtis Salgado (couldn't find a youtube
version but for spotify users the link is http://open.spotify.com/track/7zpjxOuRJP6OQCjZdsZ42i
for web or Curtis Salgado â She Didn't Cut Me Loose for the app). At ~2:27, he
does a small lick of 3 Draw - 3 Blow/2 Draw - 2 Blow.
The issue I have is transition from either the 3B or 2D to the final 2 Blow
note. I've tried gapping the reeds but whether I'm going from 3D to 3B or 2D to
2B, there always seems to be a hesitation before the blow note complies.
I'm open to any suggestions or advice.
