 First off, love Junior Wells. Second, remember that the record company wanted Junior to be another James Brown at one point and marketed him and tried to shape him into that. My friend George Scheck, who played bass with Edgar Winter at one point and who later in his career worked with Arlen Roth in the video business tells some great stories about Junior playing his gig then hitting everyone else playing that nights gig before sunrise and when George, who's job it was to pick him up at 9 AM, would have to stop for a bottle which Junior would finish then go and nail his video/instructional session. ahhh, the good old days...
