Re: [Harp-L] Big River

The big river is a little underrated. 3 things you can do to make it swell.

1) Add an extra reedplate screw. They are often missing the one that comes in the center tine.

2) Flat sand the draw plate to make sure it is flat.

3) Slap a custom comb on it. You will not believe the volume and resonance. I did a video on it here:

Part one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYCybaetj7U

Part two http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLZ-8h0IsXg

In the video. I show how to install it, how to flat sand drawplates (useful for anyone) and then have a 40 year player demo a comb for the first time. He is blow away! Fun to watch.

p.s. I always toss in an extra reedplate screw if you buy a big river comb from me.

I quite like Big River harmonicas... The are just plastic combed Hohner MS
harps... VASTLY better than Huang harmonicas!
And they are great value for money.
Well done Hohner!
