[Harp-L] Subject: Memphis Slim/Sonny Boy Williamson - hour long European concert~videos~

Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed it, Rob. I aim to please<G>..and I
HAD specifically meant to include
Steve Cropper in the Donald 'Duck' Dunn reference--but at that point was
running on empty and afraid I'd lose the email from my balky computer so hit
send too soon.

Thanks! for bringing his name to our attention. He MORE than deserves the
kudos. The guy's amazing..they all are (and were).

A little taste of his and Duck's brilliance:

I personally got such a kick out of the Blues Bros. movie clips I watched
them all several times then sought out the best versions (some were very
fuzzy). Besides Aretha and Matt, Elwood's 'dance' is really something. Besides
playing through a green bullet, Dan Aykroyd was really quite limber when
he was younger. You must have had a blast (and heard and still hear a lot of
great 'road' stories) touring with this band.

Oh to be a fly on the wall. ;)

Warsaw is where my mother's parents came from originally although I've
never been. Hope it's a good place to play.

Have fun!

Best, Elizabeth

"Elizabeth...Thanx for these Memphis Slim and Blues Bros Clips....I'm now
cracking up cuz I'm sittin here in POLAND with The Original Blues Brothers
Band.....Matt "Guitar" Murphy was indeed on many sessions and live gigs
with
Memphis Slim and James Cotton. I worked with Matt in the Blues Brothers
when
I first joined in 2001, after his stroke he is no longer touring w/ us
anymore but STILL playing and recording.....I had some nice chats on the
Bus
w/ Matt about Cotton and Slim....

Since Duck Dunn's and Alan Rubin's passing there are only 2 left that are
currentely with us, Steve The Colonel' Cropper and Blue Lou
Marini.......we
do a concert at The Palladium tonite in Warsaw and then head up to
Trondheim, Norway Foir a Festival.....

I get some nice Harmonica Features with the band and as I said the the
road
stories are priceless and fun....

If anyone wants to hookup for a Harp Lesson in Norway, I'll have 2 days
off
before our Festival on 9/8/12 please contact me off list....

I'm honored to share the stage with these guys every night....

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Steve Cropper is one of the Architects of
Rock/Soul Music....

Happy end of Summer Y'all
Rob "The Honeydripper" Paparozzi
