Re: [Harp-L] question re: notating bends

Peter - Check out my diatonic harmonica tab font, Fletch, which I use with Finale all the time as a lyrics font. I used this in both Harmonica For Dummies and Blues Harmonica For Dummies. Works with both Windows and OSX.

You can check out the user manual here:

http://www.angelfire.com/music2/harmonicainfo/products/Fletch_Manual.pdf

For bends I simply use a diagonal slash through the shaft of the arrow, one slash for each semitone of bend.

you can purchase a copy of the font ($10) here:

I also have a font for chromatic tab, Chromatic Sans:

Subject: [Harp-L] question re: notating bends

Hello Fellow Tin Sandwich Biters:

I've written out some cross harp exercises in standard notation using Finale PrintMusic. I'd like to be able to indicate blow and draw notes, and bends, and I'm curious to know if any of you have done this before, so I don't have to reinvent any wheels.

There are a lot of different methods for this (my favorite is the way Richard Hunter does it in Jazz Harp), but none of the ones I've seen are well-suited to Finale PrintMusic.

Much obliged for any help you can provide-

Peter Beck
